January[]
- 10: Anarchist Victor Basch and his wife Ilona Basch are assassinated in Lyon, France by Vichy police. He was at least 78 and she was 81 years old.[1]
- 30: The Italian military executes 8 anti-fascist rebels in Reggio Emilia in retaliation for the killing of a fascist soldier. This includes the 50-year old anarchist Enrico Zambonini.[2]
April[]
- 14: Hermann Steinacker is poisoned in the Mauthausen concentration camp in Nazi-occupied Austria.[3]
June[]
- Anarchist students led by a 15-year old nicknamed "Christ" lead an attack on a small Gestapo held town in northern Hungary. They hope to inspire an anti-fascist riot, but they fail and are arrested.[4]
August[]
- 11: Joop Westerweel is executed in the Herzogenbusch concentration camp in the Nazi-occupied Netherlands. He was 45 years old.[5]
