- 22: Pietro Acciarito attempts to stab the king of Italy travelling in a carriage near Porta San Giovanni, Italy. He fails and is placed in a mental asylum for the rest of his life.[1]
August[]
- 8: In response to the arrest and torture of Spanish anarchists, Michele Angiolillo shoots the Prime Minister of Spain in the spa town of Santa Águeda. The Prime Minister's wife shouts at him: "Murderer! Murderer!". Angiolillo, in turn, bowed and declared, "Pardon, Madame. I respect you as a lady, but I regret that you were the wife of that man."[2]
- 20: Michele Angiolillo is executed by garrote in Bergara for assassinating the Prime Minister of Spain.[3]
